Is it safe to use hormone replacement therapy in menopause when you have endometriosis? Thank you.

Doc. dr. Martina Ribič Pucelj odgovarja:

Hormon replacement therapy is generali not recomanded in women with endometriosis, because it can cause progresion of exsisting endometriosis. If menopausal symptoms are serious and HRP therapy is necessary, combination of estrogen and progesterone is recommended, but this therapy must be taken with precautions and regular control is required by gynecologist.
Best regards.
